The Ford Escape has long been a top choice for Iowa drivers shopping for a small SUV. The famous Escape crossover from Ford offers sportier handling and looks than many rivals, and is a staple in many garages across America.

One of the best things about the Ford Escape, is that it can be purchased in a wide range of trims, with additional options packages to boot. That gives Ames buyers the chance to find a Ford Escape model that fits their needs, and their budget.

Below, we're going to break down the different trim levels available on the 2019 Ford Escape, which will be similar to those from previous years with some exceptions when it comes to features added for 2019.

Escape S

The base S trim comes at an entry-level price, but is by no means a barebones model. Although the S is normally only available as a custom order or for fleet vehicles, here at Ames Ford we always keep several in stock to provide our customers with more options when shopping for their new Ford Escape.

Standard features on the Ford Escape S include: 17-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights, Ford MyKey, cruise control, 4.2-inch display with rearview camera, Sync interface with smartphone integration, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker sound system with a CD player and a USB port. It also comes standard with tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and 60/40-split folding and reclining rear seat.

The Escape S is powered by a 2.5l four-cylinder engine that puts out 168 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque, and is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Escape SE

The Ford Escape SE steps up its standard equipment quite a bit, and offers additional option packages.

Key upgrades on the SE include: alloy wheels, chrome exterior trim, sound-reducing glass, roof rails, foglights, entry keypad, rear privacy glass, push-button ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, rear air vents, power driver seat, and heated front seats.

Technology is also upgraded with Ford's Sync 3 infotainment system as standard. This comes with a larger 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, WiFi hotspot, and a nine-speaker sound system.

The powertrain on the SE is also a step up, incorporating a 1.5l turbocharged engine at 179 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque.

Escape SEL

The SEL trim level adds some more luxury-oriented features, including a power liftgate, roof rack rails, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, premium cloth upholstery, power heated mirrors, and rear parking sensors. It also opens the door to options like a panoramic sunroof and more. The SEL is a popular choice among families due to its improved interior materials and convenience features.

Escape Titanium

If you're looking for a compact crossover that borders on true luxury territory, the Ford Escape Titanium is trim level for you. The Titanium slathers on the features, including: 19-inch wheels, remote start, ambient lighting, auto-dimming rearview mirror, xenon headlights, driver-seat memory, 110-volt household outlet, and added 12-volt power outlets.

Safety tech and infotainment systems also get big upgrades, with a navigation system, 10-speaker Sony audio system with HD radio, front and rear parking sensors, and automated parallel & perpendicular parking.
