• The Best Vehicle For Your Family is the Ford F-150

cars for saleFinding the best car for your family can be an overwhelming experience, particularly when there are so many different cars for sale at an auto dealership. To reduce your stress, don’t focus too much on the style of the car itself so much as its functionality, safety, and reliability. One vehicle, in particular, meets all of those qualifications to keep your family safe while simultaneously providing you with the style you crave for.

For 40 consecutive years since it launched in 1977, the Ford F-series has been America’s best-selling truck as of 2017. The remarkable sales of the Ford F-series aren't only because of the lifestyle statement it makes for the average working-class American. It also happens to be a great family vehicle.

Space is one of the main priorities for parents of large families, which is why minivans have become the stereotypical vehicle of sports families. The Ford F-series allows you all the space your family needs without needing to succumb to the mini-van design. The F-150 SuperCrew, as well as the SuperCab, can comfortably sit up to six people without any need to reduce leg room.

An additional feature is the amount of cargo space because odds are if you have a large family you are also going to need to fit plenty of groceries. Depending on your desired size, the Ford F-150 has up to three different sized beds with the smallest beginning at 5.5 feet and the largest at 8.0 feet.

Space may be a priority for families, but above all is the necessity for safety. In the event of a car accident, every parent wants their child to be as safe as possible. The Ford F-series ranks particularly high in its safety ratings. According to Forbes, the Ford F-150 was the “only pickup truck to earn a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, outperforming trucks from Chevrolet, GMC, Toyota, and Ram on an important new crash test.”

Not only did Ford trucks outrank any other on the crash test, the Ford F-150 also comes with a backup camera on an 8-inch LCD screen allowing for an enhanced navigation system image. This screen allows you to stay safe while backing up, preventing crashes before they happen. However, in the event a crash does happen the Ford is a particularly safe pick.

    Family fun
Despite its space and safety, the Ford F-150 is still a truck. This means no matter the weather, no matter the terrain, you’ll be able to take your family anywhere. The amount of storage in your vehicle, as well as its off-roading capabilities, makes the Ford F-150 an ideal vehicle for camping trips and family road trips.

The best vehicle for your family
Choosing the right vehicle among new and used cars for sale may be an overwhelming decision, but with the Ford F-series, it doesn’t have to be. A safe, reliable vehicle with the storage space for an entire family and then some, the Ford stands out among the cars for sale in your average dealership.
  • 4 Advantages of Buying Used Cars Over Brand New

5/16/2017 5:01:26 PM - by Your Friends at Ames Ford Lincoln
    used cars

Finding a vehicle is quite an investment under any circumstances. It doesn't matter if you're buying new, used, or looking for an affordable lease -- it will cost you a pretty penny. While it can be tempting to buy a new vehicle from your local auto dealership, there's a reason used car sales are surging. If you're looking to make the most of your money, consider purchasing pre-owned vehicles, as these used cars offer multiple benefits down the line.

On the fence about purchasing used cars? Keep reading to discover four of the biggest benefits that come from buying used cars from a reputable dealership.

Less depreciation the moment you drive off the lot

A brand new car loses thousands of dollars in value the second it is driven off the lot. Fro that moment forward, it is now considered a used vehicle. Think of it this way: the second the vehicle becomes yours, the value goes down because car dealerships can only sell it for a used car price. However, considering that the average vehicle will have three owners in its lifetime, once a car has already been owned, its depreciation rarely drops that steeply again.

    Reduction in new car fees

Typically, when purchasing a new car, you have to pay one-time new car fees such as taxes and fees from the Department of Motor Vehicles. When buying used, these fees are significantly reduced or eliminated, saving you even more money in the long run.

    You can have your pick

A caveat of only looking for new cars is that you may not always get what you want. Buying used cars, however, can give you a much wider selection. So long as you visit a quality dealership, you can choose from a wide variety of inventory and can buy any make, model, and year your heart desires. Don't limit yourself to the overpriced inventory from the 2016-2017 year; find the perfect make and model for your budget.

You don't have to skimp on quality with used cars

With the rise of certified pre-owned programs, you can rest assured that your car is in great condition before you buy. Many drivers are nervous that buying a used vehicle means sacrificing on quality, but that's not the case with certified pre-owned vehicles. Generally, certified pre-owned means that the car does not have a history of damage, has been fully inspected, and in many cases is covered by a warranty that extends beyond the vehicle's factory warranty. So with CPO, you can't go wrong.

Of course, these are just some of the benefits that come from visiting used car dealerships. We didn't even mention the most important advantage -- saving thousands of dollars!

  • Exploring the Pros And Cons of Having A Car In College

    car dealership

Making the decision to go to college is one that will help to shape the rest of your life. But going to college also involves making a ton of difficult decisions: you need to decide where you want to go, whether or not you want to attend school out of state, what you want to major in, what classes you want to take... The list of decisions that need to be made is almost endless.

However, one decision that many people don't carefully consider is whether or not to bring a car to campus. While having a car on campus certainly has its conveniences, it doesn't come without disadvantages as well. But before you make a visit to a car dealership to look at used cars for sale, here are some pros and cons of bringing your car to college.

    1. Pro: Freedom and mobility (and popularity)

Oftentimes, students who don't have a car on campus tend to feel "stuck" at school. Having a car provides you with the ability to go wherever you want, whenever you want. Of course, this largely depends on the location of your college. If you attend school in a city with excellent public transportation, you may not feel as dependent on car travel. However, if you're at a small school in a college town, a car of your own may feel like a necessity.

    2. Con: Parking

While driving around campus isn't usually an issue, parking on campus can be an absolute nightmare. Not only do most colleges charge annual fees for parking passes, but simply finding a spot can take longer than the drive itself. If you're bringing a car, be prepared for chaotic parking situations -- and at least one parking ticket. Remember: most campus traffic officers aren't exactly lenient when it comes to giving out parking tickets, so always make sure your parking spot is in a lot designated for students.

    3. Pro: Convenience

Many people neglect to realize the convenience that comes with having a car, especially on a college campus. Having a car on campus makes everyday chores like grocery shopping so much easier. Even if you have a meal plan, you'll still need groceries. Instead of having to take the bus to the store and get back to campus with a million grocery bags, you'll have the freedom of being able to go whenever you want.

    4. Con: Pressure

Having a car on campus often leads you to get asked for rides by friends. While this can make it easier to make friends, if you're a people pleaser, it can be hard to say no. This is especially important on weekends, when people may want to leave school to socialize. You don't want to end up in a situation where your friends are constantly pressuring you to drive them home when you know you shouldn't be driving.

Ultimately, if you do decide to bring a car to campus, then used vehicles are the obvious choice. Perhaps that's one reason that certified pre-owned sales from car dealerships reached a record 2.6 million units in 2016. While there are plenty of advantages and disadvantages to bringing a car with you to college, it's important to do plenty of research.
